Lets wake up

Its the first time that the Pakistan Day Parade was canceled and I was deeply saddened. The reason that has been given officially is the security threat. Does that mean the security provided to the higher officials of the armed forces and the people on the premier positions is so weak that we cannot even have the Pakistan Day parade anymore? Is the threat actually so huge that we now have to give up all our traditions?

A sad sad day indeed.

Today, I will not wish anyone Happy Pakistan Day because I am not happy with the way things are in Pakistan.Pakistan is the only Islamic Ideological State after Medina which was developed by the Prophet (SAW) himself and lets ponder wat we have done to this great blessing of Allah (SWT). There’s a long way to go and for that we need to wake up and do something ourselves. I pray to Allah (SWT) that He gives us enough strength that we can sacrifice some of our luxuries for this country and do something more than what we are already doing. And that He give us the strength to accept our responsibilities towards Pakistan and be true Pakistanis. And that we do not break rules just because everyone else does too.

I pray to Allah (SWT) that we never ever have a military coup again. And that our democratic leaders become truly democratic. I pray that our judiciary is free of biases and justice is provided without delays. I pray that the feudal system is demolished and education is provided to all.

  1. I have never been big on sentiment and tradition, as you may have known. But I do realize the culture and sentiment has a key influence on people and society, and when a society starts to crumble under the weight of its problems, its sentiment and tradition are the ones to go first.

I agree it is high time our nation woke up, or at least the people who can make a difference. But these words themselves seem as hollow as our society coming from me and you. We are leading the same lives and examples that our elders did, and which got us into this mess in the first place. No one, and I mean no one is doing anything, nor do they even care.

yar, this gotta stop somewhere. i am tired of all this. wat else will we quite doing? we should quit breathing now I suppose. I am sure u know that India is moving IPL out of India. This is sick….we cant even provide security to ambassadors of goodwill!
As for me being a bad influence….well, i better not comment 😛

  3. Splendid post! Totally concur with your ideas.

Just a thing; it was not the first time parade was canceled. Trend (of canceling-parade) actually started in Musharraf-era when parade was canceled for few consecutive years and then finally arranged, not on Jinnah Avenue road, but inside Jinnah stadium, took all its charm away :(.

  4. I think the spirit of nation was never injected into us. The emotional beat kicks-off from time to time but we never let go of Me-ness. It never was about us. And this, IMHO, is the biggest silent killer for a nation. Where selflessness subsides, chaos like this starts.

I do have strong hopes from youth, this generation. But do you think we are willing to take some positive steps towards us thinking for this beloved home of ours? I hope so.

    @ safi
well, we cant stop hoping. hope is wat lets us survive

  6. khud us qaum ki halat nahi badalta , jisay badalnay ka kuch shoq na ho. All we do it talk , talk and talk. Look at all the media and the Freedom of media etc etc. So much said, so much written but we speak a lot, wish a lot but do nothing. Allah says maafi harakah, maafi barakah. if you dont do hurqut or effort, there won’t be any burkat or help from Allah. That’s the only thing needed.
